CHINMAYI GUDI
Exploring the pursuit of science and art, one day at a time.

"Science and classical dance share a common pursuit. STEM can stand not only for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, but also for space, time, energy, and movement. One explores the material laws of the universe; the other explores its inner, experiential truths. They are two sides of the same coin."

BRIDGING
TWO
WORLDS.
Between rigorous inquiry and creative expression lies the heart of my practice. Science and Bharatanāṭyam are not separate pursuits but complementary languages—one speaks the laws and patterns of the material world, the other talks the rhythms of experience and emotion. Each experiment, each performance, becomes a step in the ongoing dialogue between knowledge and expression, analysis and intuition, logic and devotion.
Probiotic Engineering
My research investigates human health care through microbial systems via approaches in probiotic engineering, synthetic biology, and immunology. I am studying live biotherapeutics as the next generation of medicine.
Classical Dance
On stage, I explore Bharatanāṭyam, an Indian classical dance form, where the body becomes a bridge between thought and experience. Through performances across India and the U.S., and collaborations with artists from across the world, dance has become my way of exploring music and expression.
